HOW CAN MY AGENCY PARTICIPATE?

Thank you for your interest in participating as an agency in the UF Campaign for Charities!

Agencies wishing to participate must complete the UFCC application, supply all required documentation, and meet the criteria as stated in the UFCC Regulations.  A list of requirements and criteria is below. Review our Prospective New Agency Application Workshop slide deck from last year for additional information about the application process. 

Applications for the 2024 campaign will be open December 1, 2023, and must be received by February 1, 2024, complete with all supporting documentation required. All applications and materials will be submitted online. There is no save feature on the website, please ensure that you have all your documentation when completing the application!  You will receive an email once you have successfully submitted your application. 

The UFCC Planning Committee will review all applications for entry into the campaign by March 2024.  Organizations may expect to be notified of the decision of the committee on their applications no later than May 2024. 

UFCC Requirements

The organization must be registered with the State of Florida, Division of Corporations, pursuant to Chapter 617, Fla. Stat.

The organization must be registered with the United States Department of the Treasury and be recognized as a 501(c)(3) entity or the equivalent by the United States Internal Revenue Service.

The organization must be registered with the Florida Department of Revenue and must receive a state tax-exempt number pursuant to Section 212.08, Fla. Stat.

The organization must be registered with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, Division of Consumer Services, and meet the requirements of Chapter 496, Fla. Stat.

The organization must submit a copy of the organization's most recent IRS Form 990.

The organization must be governed by a volunteer board of directors that meets regularly and serves without compensation.

The organization must have a recognized substantial program in the health and human services area directly benefiting the Alachua County region.

The organization must have a written policy of non-discrimination that applies to volunteer governance, staffing, and clientele of the organization.

The organization should maintain management, general, and fundraising costs at or below twenty-five (25) percent of total revenue, a level established by the National Charities Information Bureau (NCIB).
